Hello, I’m Laura, housekeeping supervisor at Alder House Hotel.Today, we’ll cover the key checks required before a guest room is ready for check-in.
Start by checking the sheets and pillowcases for hair, stains, or damage, and replace any that fail. Check under the bed and inside drawers for rubbish or belongings, then use a white cloth to confirm the desk and bedside table are dust-free. Finally, make sure the room has two bath towels, two hand towels, and two drinking glasses.
Next, check the toilet, basin, and shower for stains, hair, and soap residue. Make sure the mirror is spotless and there are no unpleasant odours. Run the tap and shower for 30 seconds each to check for pooling or leaks, and confirm that soap and shampoo are above their refill marks.
Then, check that all lights work without flickering and test the air conditioning at 22 degrees Celsius for three minutes. It should cool properly without unusual noise or leaks. Make sure the entrance door locks from outside without a valid key card. Report any defects and keep the room unavailable until a supervisor approves the repairs.
Before finishing, record your inspection results and confirm all issues are resolved. Thank you for helping us maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming experience for every guest!
