Hi everyone! I’m Mr Carter, your English teacher, and today I’m going to show you how to take notes more effectively, so you can study smarter and stay organized.

First, let’s focus on one of the most effective techniques—the Cornell Method. Divide your page into three sections: a main notes area where you write key ideas during the lesson, a smaller column for keywords or questions, and a summary section at the bottom. This structure helps you review quickly and understand your notes more clearly after class.

Next, remember that good note-taking is about listening for main ideas, not copying everything. Pay attention to important terms, examples, and explanations. Use simple bullet points, highlight key words, and keep your notes neat so they’re easy to revisit later.

Finally, always review your notes after class. Spend a few minutes refining them, adding missing details, and writing a short summary. This step helps move information into your long-term memory.
