Hello, I’m Jack from Maplewood Public Library. Here’s how to get your library card, borrow your first books, and manage returns.
Anyone aged 18 or older living in Maplewood can apply for a free library card. Just bring photo ID and proof of address, or a driving licence showing your current address. Complete a short application at the service desk, choose a PIN, and receive your card on the spot.
With your card, you can borrow up to ten books for three weeks. At the self-service station, scan your card, enter your PIN, and scan each book. Check the titles and keep your receipt for the due dates. Need more time? Renew online before the due date, up to twice for another three weeks each, as long as the book isn't reserved.
When you're done, return books at the service desk or use the outdoor book drop after hours. Book-drop returns are processed the next working day. There are no daily overdue fines, but books over 14 days late will block further borrowing until returned. For lost or damaged books, contact the service desk to confirm any replacement charges.
Bring your ID and address proof to the service desk, and we’ll help you get started. We look forward to welcoming you to Maplewood Public Library.
