Hi, I’m Ben from Clearway Car Rental. Returning your rental car? Let’s go through a few simple checks to make the process smooth and hassle-free.
Check the fuel requirement on your agreement. If you collected the car with a full tank under a full-to-full policy, refill it before returning and keep the receipt. Then check the glove compartment, door pockets, and boot for belongings. Before disconnecting your phone, delete its pairing and any saved addresses from the car’s system.
Next, park in a designated Clearway return bay and photograph all four sides of the car, along with the dashboard showing fuel and mileage. Report any new damage to the return agent and request a handover record with the return time and inspection details.
If you find a scratch or dent, take close-up and wider photos, then compare them with your pickup records. If the damage was already there, show the agent your evidence. For new damage, request a written report and review your rental agreement and coverage before accepting charges. For after-hours returns, contact the branch and keep a record of your report.
Keep your photos, fuel receipt, and return confirmation until you’ve checked the final bill against your agreement. Thank you for choosing Clearway—we look forward to helping with your next journey.
