Hi everyone! Today’s session is all about IT risk management—understanding how to identify, assess, and reduce technology-related risks before they affect our systems or data.

In IT, risks can come from many areas: cybersecurity threats, unauthorized access, outdated software, data loss, phishing attacks, or even simple user errors.

The first step is identifying the risk—spotting anything that could compromise system security, disrupt operations, or expose sensitive information.

Next is assessing how likely the risk is to occur and how serious the impact would be if it did.

Once we understand the threat level, we move to mitigation.

this might include enabling stronger authentication, applying security patches, backing up data, reviewing permissions, or tightening network controls.

Remember, IT risk management is a team effort. If you notice suspicious activity, potential vulnerabilities, or anything that feels “off,” report it immediately.

Staying alert and proactive helps us protect our systems, our data, and the entire organization from costly disruptions.
