Good morning, everyone. I’m Altman, your host for the Biomedical Research Forum. On behalf of Westbridge Biomedical Institute, welcome to our researchers, clinical teams, and industry colleagues.
This forum focuses on moving research from the laboratory into clinical practice. Our discussions will explore three questions: how to establish that a finding is reliable, how to design a clinical study that can answer a meaningful question, and how research and clinical teams can work together through that process. These questions connect the sessions ahead, from early validation to planning studies involving patients.
We’ll begin with a keynote on evaluating early findings and addressing inconsistent results. Next, a case presentation will follow a diagnostic test from laboratory evaluation to clinical study, covering participant selection and outcome measures. Our panel will then discuss how researchers, clinicians, and industry partners coordinate responsibilities and determine the evidence needed to move forward.
As those discussions develop, we invite you to contribute your own questions. Simply scan the QR code in the auditorium, select your session, and submit one clear question at a time. Please keep questions relevant and avoid including identifiable patient information. The session chair will select questions for each Q&A.
Thank you for joining us and bringing your perspectives to the discussion. Now, let’s begin with our opening keynote.
