Hi, I’m James from Westhaven Construction. Today, we’ll walk through assembling a BoSS Ladderspan mobile scaffold tower, starting with the base and building up to a protected working platform.
Start on firm ground capable of supporting the tower. Insert the castors into the adjustable legs, fit them into the two base frames, and lock the brakes. Then connect the frames with horizontal braces to form a rectangular base, checking that each brace claw locks securely.
With the base connected, add the next end frames and engage their locking clips. Fit diagonal braces in opposing directions to stop the frames swaying sideways, then use a spirit level and the adjustable legs to level the tower. Before building higher, attach the specified stabilisers at all four corners, with every foot firmly on the ground.
Once the tower is level and stabilised, fit the temporary deck and trapdoor platform at the positions specified for your build, securing their platform locks. Climb from inside and stay in the protected trapdoor position while fitting the lower and upper guardrails. Only step onto the platform when both sides are protected, then continue the prescribed frame, brace, and platform sequence to the required height and fit the toe boards.
With assembly complete, have a competent person inspect the tower before releasing it for use. Thank you for joining today’s training—put this sequence into practice during your supervised assembly session.
