Weekly Teaching Report

Hi everyone, I’m Misa Frank. It’s been a busy week in Room 204, and I’m really proud of what the students accomplished. Here are a few highlights.

In math, we finished our long division unit, and the class showed strong progress. Quiz scores improved by an average of 12% from last week, with eight students earning perfect scores. In science, we began our plant growth unit by planting beans and starting observation journals. The students are already asking great questions about how and why seeds grow differently.

Engagement has been strong. I introduced peer tutoring this week, and I've already seen students helping each other with tricky concepts, that's a huge win. We also had our first science presentation. One student brought in a seed collection from home and shared what she knew about different germination times. I love seeing that kind of initiative.

Another highlight was completing a full week of daily journal entries with every student participating. We also recognized our first Student of the Week for showing perseverance during the long division unit, and I’ve been happy to see more students speaking up during group discussions.

Next week, we’ll begin fractions, and I’ll send home extra practice sheets. I’ll also send a separate note about our upcoming field trip. Have a great weekend, everyone. I’m looking forward to another great week together.
