Hello everyone, I’m Michael Reed, Laboratory Supervisor at Sunrise Medical Center. Today, I will guide you step by step through our laboratory reporting process to help ensure accurate and timely patient results.

Step One is Review and Verify Test Results. Once testing is complete, review the results, confirm patient information, and ensure quality control checks have passed. Identify any abnormal or critical findings before proceeding with reporting.

Next, we move to Documentation. After verification, enter the results into the Laboratory Information System. Ensure all information is recorded accurately, including patient details, test results, and any relevant comments. Review your entries before submission to prevent documentation errors and maintain complete patient records.

The final step is Communication. Once documentation is complete, release the report to the appropriate healthcare provider. If critical or life-threatening results are identified, follow the established escalation protocol and communicate the findings immediately. Document the notification to ensure proper follow-up and continuity of care.
