BP Measure Training
Rendora StudioAccurately measuring blood pressure is essential for maintaining good heart health. Here’s how it’s done.
First, make sure you’re seated comfortably, relaxed, and your arm is supported at heart level. Avoid caffeine, smoking, or exercise 30 minutes before the check.
The cuff is wrapped snugly around your upper arm, about an inch above the elbow. As air inflates, pressure builds—then slowly releases while we listen for your heartbeat.
The first sound we hear is your systolic pressure, and when it disappears, that’s your diastolic pressure. For example, a normal reading is around 120 over 80. A higher reading, like 150 over 95, may indicate hypertension and should be monitored by a healthcare professional.
Regular checks help catch issues early and keep your heart in good shape.
