Hi everyone, I’m Dr. John Tibbert, here with an important Public Health Announcement for the Sunnyvale community this summer.

We’re facing record-breaking heat, and it’s crucial to protect yourself and those around you.

Know the signs: headaches, dizziness, and nausea could mean heat exhaustion. If someone’s confused, not sweating, and has a temperature over 104°F, that’s a heat stroke—call 911 right away.

Stay safe by drinking water every hour—skip the sugary drinks. Try to stay indoors between 10 AM and 4 PM. Don’t forget to check your AC filters and check in on neighbors twice a day.

Cooling centers are open at local libraries and schools. For more location and travel information, text 1-800-HEAT AID. There is free transit available to centers. Never leave kids and pets in cars, just 10 mins can equal lethal danger!

Share water. Check neighbors. Together, we prevent tragedy. Once again for additional information call the Heat Help Line at 1 800 HEAT AID. Stay safe through this heat wave, goodbye.
