Had your wisdom teeth removed? Here’s how to take care of yourself and heal properly.

First, bite down gently on the gauze to stop bleeding—and change it as instructed. Use an ice pack for the first 24 hours to reduce swelling.

Take painkillers and antibiotics exactly as prescribed. Stick to soft foods—like yogurt, mashed potatoes, or smoothies—and drink plenty of water.

Avoid straws, smoking, or spitting, which can dislodge the blood clot and cause dry socket.

Brush your teeth gently, but don’t disturb the extraction area. Rinse with warm salt water after 24 hours—but never too forcefully.

Follow these care tips, attend your follow-up, and you’ll be back to normal in no time. Heal well—your smile depends on it.
