Cybersecurity Orientation

Good morning, and welcome to the Cybersecurity Team at VertexCloud. This orientation explains how our security groups work together, how incidents move between them, and what you must complete before handling live cases.

Security Operations begins the process by monitoring alerts and investigating unusual activity. When an issue reveals a wider control gap, Risk Management evaluates the affected systems, vendors, and business exposure. If a threat is confirmed, Incident Response takes over containment, evidence preservation, and recovery coordination. Your manager will clarify where your role fits within this workflow.

Begin each shift by reviewing the security dashboard and previous handover notes. Use that context to prioritize open investigations, then document every action in SentinelDesk. After assigning the correct severity level, escalate critical cases within fifteen minutes and keep all sensitive evidence inside approved systems.

To build your technical expertise, VertexCloud provides a $1,500 annual certification allowance and paid exam leave. Monthly mentoring connects that learning with your daily responsibilities, while hybrid working becomes available two days per week after onboarding. Confidential counseling is also available through the employee assistance program.
