Traffic News Update

Hi everyone, welcome to Good Morning LA. I’m Sarah Thompson, here with your real-time traffic update.

We’re seeing heavy congestion this evening on the 405 northbound through the Sepulveda Pass, where traffic is moving very slowly with delays of about 25 minutes. A stalled semi near the 10 interchange is blocking the right lane, so expect significant backups in that area.

Over on the 101 south near Hollywood, a multi-vehicle accident has closed the right two lanes. Emergency crews are on scene, but if possible, it’s a good idea to avoid that stretch and look for alternate routes.

In better news, the 5 Freeway through downtown is moving smoothly, and for many drivers, Westside surface streets may be your best option right now.

If you’re heading out, give yourself extra time or hop on the 10 east before the merge.
