Background Check Process

At Summit Financial Group, trust starts with transparency. Here’s what to expect during your background check process.
First up, consent and submission. After accepting your offer, you’ll sign an electronic consent form, provide personal details like your legal name, Social Security number, and address history, and upload a copy of your government-issued ID.
Next are the verification steps. Our third-party partner, ClearScreen Solutions, checks criminal records, employment and education history, and credit history for roles where it applies.
Now, the timeline and best practices, our typical turnaround is 5 to 7 business days. To avoid delays, double-check your resume for accuracy. Give your previous employers a heads-up that they may be contacted, and respond promptly to any follow-up requests.
Once cleared, you’ll receive official confirmation from HR, your onboarding schedule, and access to Summit’s pre-hire portal.
