Hi everyone, welcome! Today we’re sharing our top virtual interview best practices.

Alright, let’s talk about your interview non-negotiables. First, test your microphone and camera at least 30 minutes before you start. If you can, plug directly into the internet to avoid any annoying service drops. Set yourself up with a neutral background and some flattering front lighting.

When you’re in the interview, engage like a pro. Look at the camera, not your own face on the screen, and let your hand gestures flow naturally.

For answering questions, use the STAR method—that’s where you share a Situation, explain the Task, walk through the Actions you took, and highlight the Result. It’s clear, structured, and super effective.

Finally, seal the deal. Dress professionally from head to toe, even if it’s virtual. If you’re feeling nervous, try standing—it can help your energy. Keep water nearby but out of view, and send a thank-you email within an hour after you wrap up.

With these points of advice you’ve got this! Now own that screen and secure that next role!
