For 50 years, Whimsy has turned imagination into icons. Today, we celebrate you—the dreamers who make magic real!

In a tiny Tokyo apartment in 1973, our founder Hiroshi Tanaka put pencil to paper and created 'Bubblebun' – that round-cheeked rabbit with stars in her eyes that started it all.

50 years. 18 million plushies hugged worldwide. 327 characters who became family. And it all started with one stubborn artist who believed round shapes and sparkly eyes could change the world.

On June 3rd, we Celebrate at Whimsy Headquarters!. All employees receive a 24K gold Bubblebun replica, V I P passes to our anniversary exhibit, plus a $100,000 award for the winner of the "Design Your Own Character" workshop where we'll audition a new addition to our character line up.
